Happy New Year
A belated, but very heartfelt Happy New Year to everyone, there is a very slight "stretch" in the evenings and we are starting to get ready for our Spring and Summer classes here at The Lodge at Ryeland. If you are using SatNav to find us our new Eircode is R85X6WA and we are really looking forward to welcoming you to the lodge which is located close to the original entrance to Ryeland.

Catering Service: We are now offering our catering service for private events and dinner parties of 10 - 12 people and would love to help you with your special occasion. If you would like to talk to Anne about catering for your special event feel free to contact her by phone [086-2767656] or email [ryelandhouse@gmail.com].

Due to popular demand The Handling & Preparation of Fish Classes are back: Due to the popularity of our previous day classes that focused on seafood we are delighted to once again announce a very special master-class and demonstration on the handling and preparation of fresh fish on Saturday 10th of February 2024. On arrival you will be served scones, lemon drizzel cake and tea or coffer prior to the start of the demonstration, which will be delivered by our master fishmonger Liam who will explain how to choose fish that is really fresh and will demonstrate how to prepare it for cooking. When he has finished preparing the seafood, Anne will show you how to cook it to perfection. Tastings will go on throughout the demo and lunch will be served at approximately 2:00, with an estimated finish time of 2:30pm. Lunch includes starter, seafood main, glass of wine with coffee and dessert to finish.
As an extra treat, Liam will also be joining us on Saturday 22nd of June for a very special class on how to BBQ with fish, with the focus on selecting the best fish for cooking on the grill. Fish makes a great alternative to the traditional selection of meats that we tend to use but many people are unsure of how to get the best from fish. We will also be cooking chicken and pork burgers on the BBQ as well.

Cookery Camps: there will be two 1/2 day cookery camps for children and teenagers running this Easter. The first camp is on Tuesday 2nd of April, and it is for 9 - 11 year olds and the second camp is on Wednesday 3rd of of April for 12 to 15 year olds. Both camps take place between 9:30am and 12:30pm and cost 45 euro per person. Places in these camps usually go very quickly, so if you are interested in securing a place don't leave it until the last minute. The students find these courses great fun and they also learn some very valuable life skills.

Anne intends to continue with her new, gastro tour venture based around the delights of Kilkenny City when people can travel again. To get an idea of what will be available check out her tasting tours at www.kilkennytastingtours.com for more information. They are a great way of introducing visitors to the beautiful place we live in.

Last year we hosted several small group (maximum 14 people) Corporate Team Building events at Ryeland House which were a great sucess. Rebuilding teams after Covid will be vital and if you are looking for an alternative to the usual team building activities we would be delighted to discuss the various options available.

You are guaranteed a great athmosphere and of course some really fabulous food. We can plan your event with you to ensure that it really meets your needs.
